Happy Friday Everyone!
Question? Why do us moms feel as if we have to take on the world by ourselves as parents?! I don’t know about you but I’m guilty when it comes to this. We are natural born nurturers but at the end of the day we need help, especially if there is more than one child involved. Wether you are a single parent or married, help is a necessity and we should never be scared or too proud to ask for it.
I stress this a lot and I’m going to continue to do so until we all realize the truth in it. Mommies, if we’re not happy no one is happy. How?!, well it’s all about energy, you get what you give. When raising a family you have to make sure to take care of you and make sure that you are in a good place. All it takes is 30 minutes to an hour of me time. Wait, What?! You don’t have the time, well make the time there is no excuse, break it up into increments if you have to( ie. babies down for nap; go hide in the closet for 10 mins and meditate or listen to a motivational podcast, brush your hair put it in a sexy messy or sleek bun and put on some lipgloss to feel like a hot mama, do some squats and crunches in the living room to get a bit of a workout) just make sure you are good first! A happy family starts with a happy mommy(the foundation).
Now back to asking for help.
Listen you are never alone in this thing called MOMing aka parenting. Every parent has or is fighting a battle that we will or have once stumbled across at some point in our lives. It’s 2018 and there are too many resources for us to feel alone. There is no excuse to not get the help that we need, let’s swallow our pride and open our mouths. Yes, sometimes we cannot depend on family but in that case ask a friend, neighbor, co worker, local Social Services, and if all else fails there are lots of support groups via Facebook with support from women of all different backgrounds and walks of life willing and ready to help a complete stranger. There really is no excuse. Now go reach out and get the help you deserve.
You probably could do it by your self but let’s face it, It takes a village and when there is a village willing to help, oh honey you better welcome it with open arms.
